Your Four Season Playground
Pine River
We created a home reservation web app for Pine River that empowered new home purchasers with the convenience and ability to purchase the home of their dreams.
Opportunity statement: A new residential community Pine River, was getting a lot of web traffic, but little foot traffic at the sales office. Interested purchasers liked the product and value of the homes, but visiting the sales center and speaking with sales agents, was an inconvenient and timely investment.

Process & Outcome
After some purchaser and stakeholder discovery research and interviews, the results indicated low sales office foot traffic and home sales were due to a part-time sales staff and office location situated a 2hr drive from a major metropolis. Interested purchasers were not making the drive to the sales office because they felt the home they saw and wanted would no longer be available by the time they could commit a full day to visit the sales office.

I began wireframing the reservation web tool. I used screen pics of the current website and applied the new reservation tool wireframes over top. The reservation system was going to be an add-on to the current site, by wireframing this way it simplified the visualization for all stakeholders. After two rounds of internal team reviews and revisions, I moved to Hifi prototype. I could move to this stage because we already had an established website look that would not change, and using the existing web UI moved things along quickly! Prototype testing by the client's staff was done in person and moderated at our office. A user could search for a house, compare houses, select/reserve a house, and set up a reservation appointment to meet a sales agent.
After various rounds of prototype refinements, the project moved to development. Along with the prototype, I designed an email campaign that included a home reservation confirmation, a reservation summary, and a reservation appointment reminder.
Supported by a robust email marketing effort, this new home community with a first-ever online home reservation tool sold out in less than six months. 80% of homes reserved using the online reservation tool were purchased at the sales office during the reservation appointment.
