Open Card Sort Study

I conducted an open card sort study to minimize any influence on my part. After five user studies, the results indicated that some card labels were confusing & should be re-labelled and other cards removed. The open card sort study also provided helpful insights for group labelling. During this exercise, I began some hand sketch wireframe visualization that helped with grouping the cards. The resulting updates to the site map simplified the site map design and will require a lower cognitive load to use the end product.

Usability Testing Plan

For this project, I planned and carried out in-person and remote moderated usability testing. I created a usability test plan that included a consent form and recruitment plan with a series of emails, and a post-testing metrics plan. I scheduled participants, prepared a script and various scenario tasks. I used audio and video recordings during the sessions for later review.
